Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is.

Katy and her mother move to West Virginia after the tragic death of her father. Katy is used to the warm weather of Florida, so it takes some time for her to adjust to her new home. Katy is adorable; strong, funny and she runs a book review blog!!! After her arrival, she meets her next door neighbor - gorgeous, HOT, smexy, Daemon. He is all that UNTIL, he opens his mouth and soon Katy realizes that the dude is a major jerk- rude to the moon and back. Katy doesn't understand why he is like that with her if they only just met. Katy meets Dee, Daemon’s twin-sister; she is gorgeous just like her brother. Dee is really sweet and wants to make friends with Katy as soon as they meet. Daemon doesn't seem to approve of this friendship and turns into this overprotective jerk and start treating Katy or Kitten (as he decides to call her) really bad. The tension between them is almost palpable but Daemon is always acting like an ass-hat so most of the time they end up fighting. A series of events happen leading Katy to think that the twins are not human, and she is right, THEY ARE NOT HUMAN, NOT AT ALL.
OMG, I love this book to pieces! Katy is such an awesome heroine; strong and doesn't take crap from anyone. She sacrifices herself for the safety of Dee and Daemon, even though he is not friendly to her at all. I adore the way that her character develops throughout the book. Daemon, oh that fine piece of a men, as much as I want to hate him for the way he treats Katy, I just couldn’t. There is something about him that attracts everybody (and not just his obvious hot looks). The guy is seriously moody; one moment he had me wanting to rip his head off, next he had me wanting to have his babies - yeah, that serious! The love-hate relationship between him and Katy, well more hate that anything, is so attractive that you just want to lock them both in an empty room and watch what happens. Oh what the hell, lock ME in a room with him to see what happens! Focus, Daisel! The plot was well executed in my opinion, it was the right pace and you get the answers that you are waiting for. The ending was incredible, action packed, sweet, funny and emotional.
I am so happy that I got to read this book. I want to thank all my dear friends that pressured me to read this, now I will recommend this to everyone and their mother! I can’t to wait to pick up Onyx and see how the story continues, until then, I shall dream about Daemon.
Yayyy!! Our newest member of the Daemon fan club ;)
