"I've left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page.  If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.” So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?  Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

All I want for Christmas is you, not really ha! All I want for Christmas is to plan a trip to New York and spend a full on the Strand! It’s been quite some time since I've read a book that has made me laugh out loud so much, seriously! I got a few weird looks from my significant other during my many laughs attacks, some people just don't understand! This book is delightful and adorable.  I was hooked within the first few pages. Light and fun read - perfect read during Christmas time.

Dash finds a red notebook hidden between some books in the Strand.  Inside the mysterious notebook there are a bunch of clues left by a girl named Lily. Dash starts figuring out the clues and they start passing the red notebook back and forth between them. The dares and clues that they leave each other take them through an adventure in New York during one of the busiest seasons of the year, Christmas. In this unpredictable journey they learn that sometimes you can share your deepest feeling with a complete stranger.

Maybe I shouldn't have been reading this during summer considering that this adorable story takes place during Christmas, but I could not resist the beautiful cover calling my name. I love Dash, he is absolutely amazing.  At first he can come across as obnoxious, but he grows on you really fast. He is a fun and snarly nerd who loves books. Lily loves Christmas! She is obsessed with this wonderful holiday, I mean really, who doesn't love Christmas? She is a little bit crazy and all over the place.

The plot is incredible and the pace of the book is perfect for this type of story. It's hilarious and it will make you make you giggle and swoon. My only problem with the story was that sometimes the characters and situations seemed a little bit exaggerated to the point of becoming almost unbelievable. Also the ending felt a little bit rushed and unfinished, it leaves you wanting to know what happens next or how their adventure is going to continue.

I would recommend this book to any Christmas lover. Now I am off to pack my bags, bake some cookies and spend all my day in a bookstore, maybe I would find someone to pass along a notebook with me and share my secrets and feelings, how awesome would that be?
