Did you just see a flash of lightning across the sky on a clear sunny day? It’s not from Mother Nature. It is most likely from Mason Grand, swoon-worthy demigod, one of Zeus’s descendants.  Skylar Rome is supposed to be having the best summer ever before she heads off to college.  Little did she know, her whole life was about to change while visiting her cousin. Nearly drowning at the beach due to unknown forces, one of the Grand brothers she’d just met, Mason, saves her life. Cool, collected, mysterious, and dangerously good-looking, Skylar is drawn to him from the start. Though she knows he is the type of guy good girls stayed away from, it seems he is always saving her life, and the attraction was inevitable.

Upon meeting the brothers, strange things begin to happen. When she accidentally kills one of the brothers, it throws her life into turmoil, as they search to find the answers. Implausibly, she gets caught up in a world of the decedents of ancient gods, all who have super powers. Not only is her discovery difficult to accept, evil beings are after her. Running out of time and running for her life, she must unravel a mystery. What do they want from her? Forced into a battle set into motion long before she was born, will she find the answers, or will she die trying?

I am a huge fan of Greek mythology and love to read books about it.  So, when Mary asked me to read her new book, Of Gods, I just couldn't say no.

Mary takes us on an epic adventure to a world where Gods and humans collide.

Skylar is about to start college, but before she does, she has to continue the tradition and spend her summer with her cousin, Keyla.  Only this summer, will not be like the previous ones.  Skylar and Kayla have to work in Kayla’s mom’s diner during the summer to help Kayla’s mother out.  Then on Skylar’s first day on the job, she meets Mason and Nick, which by the way are HOT! And that’s when everything changes.  One night, Sklar is chased by these gross, nasty and smelly creatures called vultures. Luckily for her, Mason comes and vows to protect her.  That’s when they realize that Skylar isn’t “normal” and that she might be “different” like Mason and Nick.  You see Mason and Nick, along with their half brothers are descendants from Gods and just like them, they have special powers, each different according to which God’s bloodline they came from.

From Gods, was a great read and I truly enjoyed reading it.  The story was a bit slow in the beginning, but then it picked up and totally pulled me in and made want to read faster just to see what would happen next. From Gods is filled with suspense and adventure.  My only complaint is that I wanted more romance.  I am a huge sucker for romance.  The attraction between Skylar and Mason was there, but every time they would get close, they would scare each other off and avoid their true feelings for one another.

So if you are a lover of Greek mythology and Gods, From Gods is the book for you!

It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke?
