Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…
Fantastic! That is the first word that comes to my mind
when I think of Onyx. I dove into this book full of
expectations and let me tell you, it met every single one of them. I am a huge
fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout and her writing. She has this beautiful
way of catching your attention with her characters and the plot. I was totally
captivated by how the story developed and the twists and turns kept my
attention on point.
Here we have the continuation of Katy and Daemon’s story. Katy annoyed the hell out of me, she was acting so irrational, insecure and hiding stuff that was really important for her to share with Daemon or at least speak out loud. She kept playing hard to get and her games did not end up well. On the other hand, Daemon couldn't have been any more swoony! Now, I understand why there is a crazy female fandom going insane for him. This guy is absolutely amazing and good looking. I loved that he truly cared for Katy and was looking out for her even though she was being too stubborn to see it. I mean, who wouldn’t love a guy that brings you Starbucks coffee!?
The story was full of action and revelations, enough to keep you interested. The attraction between Katy and Daemon is undeniable, they have this love-hate relationship that I am really envious of! The only problem that I had with the story is Katy. She was being too much a pain and I found it really difficult to continue reading while hating the main character so much. The pacing was a little slow but not boring and the plot had turns that you will be not be expecting.
Overall, I enjoyed Onyx a lot and loved Daemon to pieces. If you are a Jennifer L. Armentrout fan and haven't read this series yes, I totally recommend it, as well as to all the readers that haven't read any of her books! I am really excited to see what is in store for me in Opal. Now, I am off to join the legion of females going crazy for Daemon!
