We are beyond ecstatic to be hosting Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billing, the dynamic duo, today.  These awesome ladies are behind the amazing Beautiful Bastard series!  We actually had the pleasure of meeting these brilliant ladies at Book Bash 2013 in Orlando, back in June and we were all fangirlling as you can imagine.  They are super sweet and a great sense of style.
We got the amazing opportunity to interview these amazing ladies and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

About Christina & Lauren

Lauren Billings (on the left) and Christina Hobbs (on the right) have been writing all kinds of stories together since 2009. This is not the first erotic romance they’ve ever written . . . but it is the first one under this name. Separated by the pesky state of Nevada, these co-author besties talk several times a day, agree that Ruby Pumps is the best nail polish color ever, and would, if given the choice, spend all day staring at the ocean from the San Clemente pier.

Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.

Lo: I’m hyperorganized and tend to make a spreadsheet for everything. I mean everything. If I can put numbers into it and do formulas and calculations, it’s even better.
Christina: I eat sour patch kids while I write.

What takes you out of your comfort zone?

As writers, we’ve found that it’s hard when we can get together to work through a problem. Sometimes our schedule lately has been so crazy that we don’t have time to fly to see each other, and that throws our mojo off a little. But we manage!
Was there a scene that didn't make it into the book that you wish had?

Yes, actually. We had a few more sex scenes in PLAYER that we ended up cutting because they felt indistinguishable from others in the book and we wanted each to be memorable in its own way.

Which book was the hardest to write & why?

It’s really hard to look back in hindsight and remember which was hard, because at the end of the day, we’re done and always love the final product. Most likely BEGINNING was tough, not because the words weren’t flowing or we didn’t have fun doing it, but because it was the last, it’s their wedding, and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make it perfect. But honestly, writing this series has been a ridiculous amount of fun.

If you could go back and talk to yourself when you were beginning writer, what advice would you offer?

We would just remind ourselves to keep writing, and that we’ll get better with each project. It’s always important to remember in the thick of drafting that things get better with even the smallest revisions, and to just push through to get the book written.

Are you nervous about ending your series? What are your feelings about the end coming?

We’re still focused on PLAYER coming out right now that the reality of BEGINNING being the last Beautiful book still feels a little far off. We’ll probably both be a bit emotional that week though. We’ve had so much fun and this year has been one of the best of our life for both of us.
