When the back of his vehicle is clipped by an obnoxious limo driver he can’t wait to let the driver have it until he hears Gabby’s voice coming from inside the sedan. There’s something soothing about it, something familiar. 

The moment she sees him, she knows her life will never be the same. But she doesn’t know why. He’s everything she said she never wanted. He’s cocky, arrogant, and infuriating. With his dazzling amber eyes, dark hair and chiseled features she can hardly remember where she’s going, let alone where she’s been and maybe that’s a good thing. She begins to let him show her what life could be, if she really lived it.

Neither wants their past to define their future, but sometimes destiny has something else in store. It’s only as their love grows and secrets are revealed that they realize a devastating connection from their past might actually tear them apart.

Gabby is out of college and working at her father’s company, not exactly where she wants to be at exactly.  Gabby decides that she needs to stay there to make sure her father is happy and besides, who else is going to keep the company going after her father?  Not her brother, he left when she was just a kid and that’s not the worst part, it was immediately after their mother passed away from cancer, leaving poor Gabby alone and without her best friend.  This is something that even after her graduating college, she has yet to forgive him for. 

Things get complicated when her brother, Aaron, decides to come back into her life.  Gabby finds out the reason as to why he left in the first place and the secret completely shocks her.  I am not going to say what it is because you will have to read it to find out.  The worst part is that her father always knew and never told her.  I guess every family has their own dark secrets.

Then enters Jason, Gabby’s love interest, they meet right before a charity auction her father and step mother were hosting when Gabby’s father’s chauffeur rear ends someone.   Well, that someone is Jason.  Immediately there is an attraction between the two, but Gabby pays no mind and heads to the event.  Gabby’s father decides to give her a motorcycle and to her surprise, Jason is the one who actually customized it for her.  So that following weekend, Jason comes by to drop off her bike and finds Gabby in an awkward situation.  LOL  Again, I can’t tell you, but I will say that it made me laugh.  I thought it was hilarious. 

Beyond Control is a great story about second chances, forgiving and letting go of the past.  Karice definitely through me a curve ball towards the end and that cliffhanger left me in tears!  I cannot wait to read book #2.  I totally recommend this book to anyone that loves a great love story.
