What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

I had this book sitting on my shelf for a while waiting for me to read it.  I am mentally kicking myself in the butt for waiting so long to read it.  It is amazing!  Legend is epic!  Legend is one of the best dystopian books that I have read. It is full of action, emotions and a vivid world building.  I am amazed with the storyline and how the author made it so credible.

June and Day are such kick-ass characters; strong, smart and sensible when they need to be. They don't follow rules and I love all the other similarities between them. They had me mesmerized in the way that they analyzed each other and other people’s actions as well.  June and Day come from different sides of society, they have learned their way around/about life in different types of situations but deep down, they resemble one another in more than one way.

I love June. I love the fact that she is not a wimpy female lead, she is not complaining all the time or focused on her looks.  She has a backbone and a mind of her own and she can kick your ass anytime, but can be refined as well. Day, I adore him too.  He is so different from all the other male characters that I have read before.  He is lovable and respectful.  He cares about his family and friends and he would do just about anything for them.

The whole premise of this book is really interesting, refreshing and really unique. It is not overwhelmed with details. This story is definitely a page-turner. The Aha, moments are so unpredictable and pleasantly done that the reader will not see them coming.  I like how romance is not the key of this book.  There is no love triangle or insta-love.  We all know how unrealistic those one can be. The relationships between the characters develop with time and trust, no rush about it.

I was very pleased with this book.  If I have to describe it with one word it will be astonishing.  I lived through the eyes of the characters and felt their emotions.  Legend is to die for and I would love for everyone to read it!  This story is totally worth your time. Now off to read Prodigy and see how the story continues.

Here are the other books in the series.  Book 3, Champion will be out on November 5th, TOMORROW!!!  Make sure you get your copy.
