#1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines concludes the irresistible story of Woods and Della that began with Twisted Perfection.
Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege are all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.
Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?
As you all may know Abbi Glines is an auto buy author for
me. I love every book she has published and Simple Perfection is no different!
Simple Perfection picks up
where Twisted Perfection left off. Woods
has inherited everything including his grieving mother and his witch of an ex-fiancé.
As long as he has Della by his side
nothing can go wrong. Little things seem
to happen here and there, but Della feels like she's imposing in Woods' life.
She over hears something and jumps to conclusion. Without a backwards glance,
she decides to pick up and leave. Della
shatters Woods' heart, but he is determined to have her in his life.
It's hard to say how exactly I
felt when I finished Simple Perfection. I
absolutely love Woods. I've always had a soft spot for him since the Too Far
series. Della on the other hand, was
frustrating me to no end while reading this book. Yes, we understand why she is the way she is
and why she always feels the need to run. But, I wish she was a bigger person
and just ask instead of running away without getting the full story. You may say that "misunderstandings"
are one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to stories. So much heart break could have easily been
avoided, but then again, I understand why it was necessary to this story.
Fair warning, Glines throws one
heck of a curve ball towards the end that you never, and I do mean NEVER, see
coming. I cried like a baby! Be
prepared.
Overall I really did enjoy Simple
Perfection. It does have its flaws, but
I did love their story. I'm sad that
this is the end of their journey.
I just read two romances in which miscommunications were the cause of the main plot issues. It drove me crazy. Why can't people just talk to one another anymore?
ReplyDeleteWonderful review. I love Abbi's books. I have every book in this series and have not had time to start them yet. I am going to have an Abbi marathon soon. The good part is that I will be able to read them back to back I guess.
