The countdown continues for the release of Sentinel, the last and final book in the Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout.  So in order to celebrate, we are posting our reviews for each of the books, and here is my stop, for Apollyon.  Thank you to the wonderful ladies at Stuck In Books for setting this awesome tour up and letting us be a part of it!  Check out the other blogs HERE that are also participating.

It's bittersweet to be able to read Sentinel.  We all want to know what will happen with Alex and Aiden, but we can't help but feel emotional for this amazing series to finally come to an end.  I just don't want to think about it or I will start crying already and I haven't started reading Sentinel yet.

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

It's taken me a while to write this review because I seriously needed the time to grasp everything that happened.  Jennifer, YOU BLEW THIS ONE OUT OF THE BALLPARK!!  Apollyon is seriously my favorite one in the series AND my favorite book that I have read in a long, long time.  She just set the bar REALLY high!  I LOVED IT!    By the way, did I mention how much I LOVE this book?  LOL  I am going to keep this spoiler free, which is the hardest thing to do when it’s a book you completely feel head over heels for and just want to write the longest review for because there is so much you want to include, but can’t because, again, that spoiler free thing. Okay, on to the review!!

Alex, as you know, has already awaken and is connected with Seth and if you read the mini novella in Aiden’s POV, Elixiar, you know just how much it hurt Aiden to put Alex on the Elixar, which is one of the two things that Alex refused to ever be put on – the other fear is to lose herself to Seth, but with the connection, it was inevitable.  Is love the antidote to this curse?  Aiden will do anything to keep Alex safe and away from Seth. But then  all hell breaks loose with the Gods and poor Apollo is in the middle trying to keep peace, but it’s sort of hard when the Gods know that a God Killer is on the loose and not sure what his next move is.  Then Aiden and Alex go on a mission to the underworld to talk to the only person that would know how to kill Seth and that person has been dead for a very long time.  But will Alex get the news she hoping for?  The underworld is a crazy world and Jennifer really brought this to life here.  Let’s just say that I have acquired a new phobia – SPIDERS!!  Then everyone decides that they have to keep moving and not just sit around as the world gets destroyed. They just never thought that things would end up this way.  You will cry your eyes out.  I was crying like a baby during the last few chapters.  Jennifer, why did you do this to us!  There is never anything good during times of war.  People you care about will perish and you just have to move on and fight for the ones you love that are still with you.

If you fell in love with Aiden in the previous books, just wait until you read Apollyon.  Seriously, Aiden is my fictional boyfriend.  He is my prince charming, but a kiss butt one.  He’s prince Eric meets Special Ops G.I. Joe.  And the best part, he is madly in love with Alex (sighs).  Yes, I know I'm such a sucker for love stories. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

  1. This book sounds great, and the cover looks amazing!!

  2. I love this series, great giveaway as well!!

  3. I like the theory in this world that there are children of gods still out there, like the times of Hercules or something, but more normal. So this series delves into areas that are interesting, but it hasn't been done by everyone.

We love and appreciate comments, so feel free to leave us one. We always try to respond to every single one and show love back. :)
