This week we are talking about the Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I read in 2013. So many, I hope we can narrow it down to 10! LOL
Ana's Picks

1. Sylvia Day (The Crossfire series) – I know
that Sylvia has been around for a while, but after reading Fifty Shades of
Grey, I NEEDED another adult series to read.
Well, The Crossfire series is AMAZING! It’s steamy, sexy and all kinds
of hot! *fans self* Gideon is perfect. *sighs* I also met Sylvia at BEA and
Book Bash this year and she is awesome.
You can tell she loves all her fans.
2. Jamie McGuire (Red Hill & Beautiful
Disaster series) – I haven’t yet read the Beautiful Disaster series,
but OMG Red Hill was crazy zombie good!
I love her writing style and I also had the privilege of meeting her at
Book Bash this past June and she is super sweet. Love this girl!
Andy's Picks

3. Cora Carmack (Losing
It series) - Honestly I don't know where my life was at before reading Carmack's
books. Her writing style is amazing and draws you in from the very start! I had
the pleasure of actually meeting Cora twice this year. She is truly one of a
kind. ;)
4. Suzanne Young (The Program) - Oh boy do I even have to
explain why Suzanne is on this list? If you go back to all of my TTT you will
see that The Program has been in every single one. No book has had such an
impact on me in a very long time. Please if you haven't read it do yourself a
favor and go read it.
Daisel's Picks
5. Marie Lu (Legend trilogy)- I had seen Legend around for quite a while, when I read it, I automatically felt in love with Marie Lu's writing style. Even though this author is been around for quite a while it wasn't until this year that I discovered her books.
6. Aimee Carter (Pawn & The Goddess Test trilogy) - This author on author that I just recently discovered too! Pawn was absolutely amazing and unique. I have not read her Goddess series (maybe that is why I did not knew about her) but I am really glad that stumble upon her book on NetGalley.
Doris' Picks

7. Kristen
Simmons - is one of the authors I've never heard about until
this year; her first book, Article 5, came out in 2012 but unfortunately I was
a late bloomer and read it in 2013. But that's a good thing because I didn't
have to wait at all for the second book Breaking Point.
8. Gennifer Albin - is
also new to me. I bought her book, Crewel which is awesome, at Dark Tour
signing, and I regret not buying the second. Note to self: when you meet an
author buy all her books that have been published.
Katering's Picks

9. Rick Yancey (The 5th Wave) - Let me just fangirl for a minute… OK The 5th Wave might be my
favorite book of the year. Rick Yancey did an amazing job with this book.
If you haven't read The 5th Wave, go now and read it is sooooo
good! Rick Yancey *SLOW CLAP* you are the best!!
10. Annie Rose
Welch (Marigny Steet, Red Dirt Road) - I had the pleasure of reading both of Annie's books
and I loved both of them and they will always be in my heart. Her way of
writing romance is just so well done and I just ADORE a good love story.
I cannot wait to start Carter, Young and Yancey, I had their books for ages now and never read any :X Will fix that soon :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Interesting choices -- I've heard so many good things about so many of these authors! The only one I've actually read is The 5th Wave -- amazing!! Great list!

Old Follower :)
I really want to read The Program and Pawn, I wish I'd got round to them this year, but I guess this means they can be on my next years list!
ReplyDeleteReally good picks today, all of you! Suzanne Young definitely made my list today, while Kristen Simmons & Rick Yancey came SO close. Marie Lu and Aimée Carter are old favorites, but I loved their 2013 releases.

Cora Carmack <3 I adore her Losing It series! I definitely agree that The 5th Wave is fantastic! Such an amazing book. I still need to get around to a few of the authors on your list but I'm planning on doing that next year :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
None of the authors on your list made mine, but I also 'discovered' Cora Carmack, Marie Lu and Rick Yancey this year and really enjoyed their books :) Let's hope we'll all be as lucky with new authors in 2014!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by earlier this week.
