~ Top Ten Tuesday ~

* * Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. * *
This week we are talking about the Top Ten Worlds I'd Never Want To Live In OR (since some of you might not read stuff with different worlds) Top Ten Characters I'd NEVER Want To Trade Places With. Here is a mix of worlds and characters that we would not be caught dead living on or trading places with.

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1)   The Program (The Program, #1)

1.  Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo - I have to say that this series really gets my heart pumping.  This crazy world that Leigh Bardugo has created is beautifully unique, but terrifying at the same time.  Just thinking about the Shadow Fold and having to cross it, sends chills down my back.

2.  The Program by Suzanne Young - I could NEVER EVER trade places with Sloan.  This poor girl has been through hell and back.  I couldn't live in a world where I couldn't mourn the loss of a friend or family member because of fear that the government would think I am depressed and suicidal.  Then if you are discovered they would place you in The Program to erase any and all memories you had of that person, so you wouldn't be depressed anymore.  This is a tough world and I for sure, wouldn't want to live in it.

Check out my review for The Program HERE.

3. The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld  - This was the very first dystopian series I read and it still captivates to this day. I love this series but I'd be terrified to actually live it. Bravo Westerfeld for creating such a magnificent world that both grabs your attention and has you fearing for what's to come.

4. Delirium by Lauren Oliver- I would never want to live in a world with no love or affection. For me that would be to depressing. Imagine a world where you can not express your feelings, touch or caress someone. Plus, having to have your brain play with? Big no-no.

5.The Evolution Of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins- I would never trade places with Mara Dyer, even if she has Noah, all the messed up things that happen to her are crazy! I do want Noah but ... but I wouldn't sacrifice my sanity for him ...maybe or maybe not.

6. NEVER EVER would I want to trade places with Katniss Everdeen. Going into the games twice? NO THANK YOU. I mean my death probably would've happened in the first page of the book. Maybe I should start training just in case, right?

7. How could we forget about the Starks? Someone would have to forcibly make me want to switch places with them.  I mean, have you seen everything they'v been through? I'll pass.

8. As much as I love the series, I wouldn’t want to live in George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones world. Too many beheadings and red weddings for my taste, so I’m just content reading about it and feeling sympathy for the characters.

9. I also wouldn’t want to live in a world full of vampires, unless I’m a vampire, in which case then I take it back.

10. Matched by Ally Condie - That's a world that i definitely don't want to live. I don't want someone else telling who should I marry. NO that is sad.

Share with us your picks for this week!

  2. I don't think Sansa from Game of Thrones has it that bad. I keep hoping something terrible will happen to her because she is one of my least favorite characters but nothing does! Yes, she is being held prisoner but she has it easy compared to all of the other Starks. If I had to choose, I'd choose her even if she is a bit too stupid for her own good.

  5. Yes, the Shadow Fold terrifies me so much - I hated reading the scenes where they were in it! I would happily stick to one side if it meant I could avoid it. And I never finished Delirium, but I remember being very unhappy with the early scenes because most of the characters were so unemotional and unattached and I just couldn't bear the thought of that being the norm - I'm WAY too emotional to fit into that! And the only way I would survive longer than a day in the Hunger Games is if I found a hiding place and got as far away from everyone else as possible!

  7. Great picks - seeing a lot of these on other lists, too. Yes, I agree - I don't want to live in a world where someone else would dictate my emotions or who I could marry. Ugh! I thought of Westeros for my list, but didn't include it because I thought "if I'm a commoner, maybe it would be okay" :-)

  8. Those are some awesome choices. I would never want to trade with Katniss either. Shudder. I'd probably die in the reaping. LOL. Thanks for stopping by!

  9. good list, and so many I agree with. But the one I forgot about that I feel the most for is the Starks, everything that happens to them just breaks my heart, granted I can't stand Sansa, but Arya is one of my favorite characters in the show.

  10. I haven't read most of these- which is why my list is so short. They all sound terrible though. Thanks for stopping by my post.

  12. When it comes to vampires I'm the opposite of you. I'm fine living with them, but I wouldn't want to be one. I like your list. I think there are three books I haven't read. I'll have to look into them.

    P.S. I like your owls. :)

  13. These are some fantastic choices girls, and although I haven't many of them, I know what you mean because I've heard about them! Any dystopian I'd probably die pretty early on or be kidnapped or destroyed, and I couldn't love in any world where I couldn't love or couldn't choose who to be with, so these choices are brilliant! :D

  17. YES YES YES! To all of these choices, but most definitely to The Program. Talk about a book that is terrifying because it's plausible! lol.
