* * Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. * *
This week we are talking about the Top Ten Books That Will Make You Cry (originally done November 2010). Yes, the tearjerkers, the books that will break your heart, those books in which the author managed to make you cry more than once. Those books that are painfully beautiful and even though you know that at the end your are going to end up with your heart in your hand, you still read it! Enjoy!

1. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling- I have cried reading almost each single one of these books. Too many lovable and memorable characters died during Harry's journey. This will forever be my favorite Fantasy series of all time.
2. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma- Forbidden was the first contemporary book that I read that made me cry like baby and I mean ugly cry. I am a huge softy when if comes to children or animals being abused. The things that these poor children went through is heart breaking. Tabitha ripped out my heart and threw it away with this one.

3.Finding It by Cora Carmack - Ugh, this book though! It came to me right when I need it. Kelsey is literally my spirit animal. I adore her!
4. Hydraulic Level Five by Sarah Latchaw - So many feels for this book!!! The fact that Latchaw can capture so many emotions in her debut book says a lot about what an incredible writer she is. I highly recommend starting this book.

5. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover- This book people, this book will change your life forever! I am not the same after this. It cracked my heart. I suffered and cry, I felt really bad for Sky (main character). But this is another marvelous book worth all the pain.
6. If I Stay by Gayle Forman- This is a tearjerker. I sob for days after finishing this book. I curled up in a fetal position and questioned life over and over. It broke my heart into million little pieces but it is so good, so painfully good.

7. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green- Not gonna lie, usually when I read books I cry in EVERY SINGLE ONE. (I'm an emotional person) But the book that made me cry buckets of buckets of tears was The Fault In Our Stars. Why? Well it hit home, I've lost a few family members due to cancer and it sucks. But this book captures so much more than that, it gives us hope. Hope that we can move on and live for the ones we lost. Btw, I am so ready for the movie.

8. The Program by Suzanne Young- I am told by my fellow bloggers that I must read Suzanne Young’s The Program, because it’s awesome, and it will bring up all sorts of feels.
9. Allegiant by Veronica Roth- No spoilers please, because I’m the only person left in the world who hasn't read Veronica Roth’s Allegiant and apparently this is one big tear jerker.

10. Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout- I will cry so much when Opposition is finally in my hands.I'm positive the first chapter will break me. Did you guys not read Origin?! Yeah I'm definitely gonna be crying for this one.
Gah, I really need to read The Program, too! Totally agree with TFIOS, though. That one is on all our minds lately! ALL THE TEARS.

Wow, I didn't know Hydraulic Level Five had been published. I read it when it was still Twilight fanfiction and yes, I cried! Great list, I cried over TFIOS, The Program and If I Stay too!
ReplyDeleteMy Top 10 Tuesday!
Forbidden for sure. That ending was just... *sigh* :o( TTT
ReplyDeleteYES to Origin! (It made my list too.) The beginning of that book absolutely K-I-L-L-E-D me.

Yes, TFIOS is so hard to deal with. Even more so because the first half is hysterical and then the s*** hits the fan pretty abruptly and when I cried, it was definitely angry tears. Life isn't fair! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteAmanda @ i solemnly swear
that's a great list, tear jerkers for sure. Allegiant didn't make me cry--it made me angry. kelley—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteI really need to read The Fault in Our Stars! It is now bumped up my TBR list!

THANKS XOXOX ♥
I haven't read IF I STAY YET but I am prepared! Everyone says it's a tearjerker. I'll dive into it when hubs isn't home so he can't make fun of me!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picks! TFioS though, dear god the feels in that book!
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay wrecked me, and I was accidentally spoiled about the ending!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks. If I Stay made my list too, such an emotional and beautiful book. I also picked Deathly Hallows, I pretty much cry from beginning to end. So happy to see Forbidden on so many lists, I love that book but it kind of destroyed me!My TTT :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the best list I've seen! So many sad books. Forbidden was heartbreaking, as well as The Fault In Our Stars and all of the others listed! I have a few on this list that I need to read soon. Here's my TTT: http://unearthlyreviews.blogspot.com/2014/02/top-ten-tuesday-books-that-will-make-me.html Happy Reading! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm a new follower! :)
My bad, I'm actually an old follower!
ReplyDeleteNew follower! So many good books listed! The Fault in Our Stars, If I Stay, Hopeless, Allegiant! All great picks! I've seen Forbidden on a ton of lists today and I'd already heard it was really good. Might have to brave the subject matter and check it out myself!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my TTT earlier!
Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
TFiOS, If I Stay, and Allegiant made me cry plenty as well! I've been eyeing The Program for a while now, guess I'll have to check it out soon! Awesome list! :)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I'm also so ready for TFIOS movie. I haven't actually read the book but I'm thinking about picking it up soon. But I did see the movie trailer and fell in love with those two already. Okay, If I Stay is pretty much in everybody's list, including mine ^__^ That was a definite tear-jerker of a book but it was still great. Finding It is still in my TBR list but I hope to get to read it soon. I love Cora Carmack and Faking It is actually on my list. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT post :)

I knew Harry Potter was going to be on EVERY list this week :-) I haven't read any of these others but they all sound like good tearjerkers - and I love a book that can make me cry :-)
ReplyDeleteYes The Program...totally killed me over and OVER. I sobbed pretty much the entire time. TFIOS absolutely, the ending especially. Allegiant made me cry,but not a whole lot. HP56&7 totally wrecked me and I seriously considered sending JKR my therapy bill afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI have been avoiding all talk about alligent, still havent read it yet. I will have to check out some of the other books on your list, thanks for stopping by ours!

ReplyDeleteHarry Potter almost made my list. So many teary eyed moments! Good list
ReplyDeleteGreat list and tbh Doris' reasoning for Fault In Our Stars is my reason for not having read this book that everyone loves despite how emotional it is. I don't know when I'll have the courage to read it, but I would like to one day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my post Doris!
Tiffany @ A Nanny's Literary Musings
