In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.
When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.
Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.
(4.5)

When I first saw the cover of this book I automatically fell in love with it, but like the saying says “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”, so why not give a try? The story takes place in Paris *sigh*, a young girl meets a mysterious handsome boy and falls in love with him only to discover that he might be not human at all, maybe even a zombie? And she is risking her life by being with him. Well if we have already read about vampires, faeries, shapeshifters and fallen angels love stories why not read about Revenants?

Kate Mercier moves to Paris with her sister Georgia after the death of their parents. As she is trying to cope with their loss, she runs into a handsome, mysterious boy called Vincent, who she begins to fall for. Shortly after meeting him, explainable things begin to happen around Vincent, and Kate is brought to the realization that Vincent might not be entirely human after all.

Now, as I started reading the book I felt that the story was a little rushed, descriptive and repetitive but... but I did not gave up that easily. As I continue to read I fell in love little by little with all the characters and the plot of the story. The setting : Paris ! Who doesn't love the city of lights? The author did a good job in describing all the places in the book.

I really like Kate as the main character of this book. She was smart, strong and genuine. Even though she is going through a lot with the death of her parents she still take the time to think about the consequences before making a decision.

Vincent and Kate sizzled... I loved their romance. It was love at first sight. He was always a gentleman to her. Beside who would not fall in love with a gorgeous, mysterious, sweet yet sexy guy and that has a french accent? What else could a girl want!

However, Kate and Vincent relationship was not always in peace. Due to his destiny Vincent is condemned to die over and over again saving some else ‘s life, and due to all the suffering that Kate is going thru with the death of her parents, she did not want it to be with Vincent and watch him die over and over, and grieve every time that she had to lose him even though he woke up after his death.

The supportive characters played a good role in the story. They were friends, together they battle the difficulties with Kate and Vincent. They were funny, serious, dangerous and captivating.
In general this is a lovely story with a uncommon twist introducing us to a new type of heroes if they fall into that category. The book has some cliches but is well writing and is well explained and does not leave with hanging questions. Die For Me is a fresh, gripping, must read which you really won’t want to miss out on! The second book of the series is out already; Until I Die and I can not wait to read it to see if is as captivating as the first book.
