(5 ++++++++++++, if I could give it 1000 owls, I would!)
There have only been a handful of books that have left me drowning in feels, and Hopeless is definitely one of those books. Colleen, you are simply amazing. Thank you for such a soul shattering and hopeful story. I don't even know where to begin with this review. I'm not sure if I should wait a few day and wait to get my thoughts together, but I figured I should just sit down and type exactly what my heart feels right now.
Sky has lived with her adoptive mother for as long as she can remember. She's been home-schooled her entire life and has been survived living with out TV, radios, cellphones and internet. I honestly don't think I could survive, especially since my computer and cellphone are pretty much my life line. LOL One day while doing some grocery shopping, Sky meets, Holder. Yes, he is the hottest most sexiest and sweet guy you will ever meet. He is simply perfection, but Sky doesn't know that yet. Actually he sort of freaks her out cause he comes running to her while she is reaching her car and asks for her name. After she answers him, he apologizes for confusing her with another person he knew. Well, that's not the last time Sky sees Holder. They run into each other, a couple of miles down from her house and they discover they both like to run, so they run back to her house and that's the first day of Sky's life changing forever. Little by little Holder sneaks into her heart and ours as well. .
Hopeless will sweep you in from the very first sentence and it won't let you put it down until the very last page. I can not begin to tell you how much I love this book. Yes, it's heartbreaking, tragic, gut wrenching, but it's also beautiful, amazing, addicting and most of all, hopeful. I will admit I cried - ugly cried. The kind that leaves your face all red, puffy and wet from all of the shed tears.
So for those of you who have had Hopeless in your TBR pile since it first came out, don't be like me and not read it. Bump it up to the tipy top and buy it. I promise you that you will thank me for it. Hopeless will surely become one of your all time favorite stories. I guarantee it!
