Anna Rossi lives by one simple rule: don’t get attached, don’t get hurt. But Alec Flynn doesn’t play by the rules…
Anna never takes on a massage client without screening him first, but the paycheck offered by billionaire Maxim Stein is too good to turn down. Stein is the richest man she’s ever laid her hands on, and despite the risks, she trusts that she can take care of herself. After all, she’s handled difficult clients in the past. What she isn’t prepared for is getting caught in a compromising situation by Maxim’s tall, dark, and gorgeous bodyguard—or the desperate desires he awakens in her…
Alec is dangerous. The mysterious, hard-bodied man is completely irresistible and won’t be refused, no matter what walls Anna puts up to protect herself. But as Anna falls fast for his careful ministrations and mind-blowing skills, she begins to realize that giving herself over to a man with so many secrets isn’t just putting her heart at risk—it’s endangering her life…

The Masseuse took me by surprise! This book had me hooked from page 1.  Once I started reading it ,I could not put it down. This story has it all, from super hot and steamy scenes, to mystery, to full on action. In the beginning I was a little iffy about this book because it started slow,  but after a few chapters in, it picked up the pace. Sierra Kincade did a great job with the story and for being a debut novel I think it was pretty well developed.

I enjoyed the characters of this book. Anna, our heroine, she is a tough cookie yet she is kinda broken inside. I love her attitude and the way she holds herself together. I absolutely love the relationship between her and her best friend, Alec.  Alec, oh boy! He is so handsome and hot, but dangerous and mysterious too. The chemistry between these two is amazing. All the scenes they share together are pretty steamy. My only issue with the two of them, is that Alec is too over protective and possessive and Anna was to busy gawking over him to stand up for herself.

Overall I liked this book. I like all the mystery that the author created with the characters. I found myself trying to guess what was going to happen and trying to figure out Alec's secrets. I thought this story was only going to be based in the romance, but I was pretty surprised with all the action in it. I can't wait to read The Distraction (book 2) and see how Anna and Alec are going to overcome what was thrown their way in The Masseuse.
