Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others.

Jodi Meadows introduces a vivid new fantasy full of intrigue, romance, dangerous magic, and one girl’s battle to reclaim her place in the world.
When I got approved for The Oprhan Queen I was mega excited but then I saw it only had 100 pages and was like "whoa, what is going." So I did some investigating and found the reason why Jodi Meadows didn't want to share the whole book. (Here's why: EARC.) Even though I was a little disappointed, I was still glad I had the chance to read a few chapters. Those chapters were AMAZING and I need the rest of the book like right now.

Wil is a character that will keep you on your toes every single page. I mean the girl can kick ass and she has magic, oh yeah TEAM WIL ALL THE WAY. But her determination is what I loved the most. She and the others hatched this brilliant plan to infiltrate her enemies and the way everything is shaping up it looks like it's going to be epic.

The story, the characters, the magic, everything that was offered in the few pages I read is fierce. Jodi's writing is just magical and I'm pretty sure The Orphan Queen is going to be one of my favorite reads of 2015. So add this book to your tbr because The Orphan Queen will be one of those reads that stands apart from everything else.
