“When I grow up, I’m going to be a dancer. I just know it.” Of course, life doesn’t always work out how you want. Just ask Monroe Hartley. After burying her childhood dream, Monroe works toward a new one, determined to prove her independence. When life catches up with her, stripping away her resources, she slowly turns toward an unlikely profession. Miller Buchanan has enough on his plate; he doesn’t need to worry about anything or anyone else. Then a petite, dark-haired beauty falls into his lap and despite his personal demons, he can’t stay away. Temptation and possibility linger, but when the past comes knocking, will they trade their future for the familiar?

I stumbled upon Midnight Ballerina after I made a purchase on Amazon. Yall know how Amazon likes to recommend things and you just have to look at every single item? Well after I read the synopsis of MB I one clicked that sucka so fast I almost broke my mouse. No but seriously I dived into Midnight Ballerina like my life depended on it.

OH MY GAWD I LOVE MONROE HARTLEY. When she got sassy with her boss because he fired her I knew I was going to be all Team Monroe and I was. Monroe is stubborn, independent, hardly relies on anyone, and when she's nervous she rambles; basically Monroe is just the cutest. But then her bills start lining up and Monroe has to find a job quick and when she does I laughed because her friend, Amelia, suggested it as a joke.

I didn't know this book was going to be in two POVs so color me surprised when I saw Millers' name at the top of the page. I was flailing and dancing and loving life because hello I was reading his thoughts and feelings and it was glorious. Miller is a southern gentlemen through and through. He might appear to be tough, and he is, but when it comes to Monroe he was like a knight in shinning armor.

I loved Monroe and Miller together, they were so realistic about their relationship that it was hard not to love them more than I already do. They know they are a new couple, they know that they fell too fast and anything can happen but they wanted to live in the moment and I liked that about them. They were honest with each other and this couple is just too good for words. Monroe and Miller's banter was so damn cute and sexy, I had all these warm fuzzies.

Midnight Ballerina was the first book I read by Cori Williams and it did not disappoint. Cori's words drew me in instantly, this story and characters left me with a huge huge huge grin on my face.  And I can't wait for Amelia's story, Southern Sweetness, I'm so excited about it.
