In this dangerously sexy novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Find You in the Dark, a straight-laced college student meets a handsome but enigmatic stranger who lures her into an underground club scene, where she finds it difficult to resist temptation
Aubrey Duncan understands loss. She knows what rock bottom looks like, and she is determined to crawl back up to the top after the sudden death of her younger sister. She blames herself for her part in the tragedy, convinced that she could have done something, anything, to help her.
In her effort to gain redemption, Aubrey starts fresh at Longwood University and facilitates an addiction support group, hoping she can support someone else in the way she failed her sister. But what she doesn’t count on is an all-consuming fascination with group member Maxx Demelo, a gorgeous, blond, blue-eyed enigma who hides dark secrets behind a carefully constructed mask. He only reveals what he wants others to see. But Aubrey glimpses another Maxx hidden below the surface—a Maxx who is drowning in his own personal hell.
As Aubrey and Maxx develop an attraction too intense to ignore, he pulls her into the dark underbelly of the city club scene, where she is torn by her desire to save him and an inexplicable urge to join him in his downward spiral. Worst of all, she is beginning to love everything she should run away from—a man who threatens to ignite in her a fire that could burn her alive.

I absolutely LOVED Lead Me Not.  From the very beginning the story captures your heart! Aubrey Duncan a smart high school senior is left with the void of losing her younger sister Jayme to a drug overdose. This terrible loss is overwhelming for Aubrey as her parents mostly her mom blame her for Jayme's death. Aubrey is left feeling empty and even responsible for the lost of her sister. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Aubrey and her family as losing a family member is devastating!

Aubrey decides to leave her hometown of Marshall Creek to go to college just to get far away from her memories. Longwood University is where she is studying to receive a BS in Psychology. This is where the plot thickens as Aubrey struggles to deal with her own personal losses and those of the students who are in a support group where she is a co-facilitator. It is at this support group that she meets Maxx Demelo a handsome and cocky student that is dealing with addiction. Aubrey is attracted to Maxx from the start.  We learn that Maxx is actually "X" the street artist who is in charge of the promotional drawings for the local it club "Convulsion". Convulsion is not your typical college club scene, it is a place where students and locals go to get lost.... Lost in the drugs where everything is allowed and permitted. Maxx is actually the drug dealer in the club.
In addition to Maxx and Aubrey we meet several different characters such as: Renee Aubrey's roommate and close friend who is involved with Devon Keeton a drug addicted jerk who is verbally and physically abusive to Renee. Aubrey and Renee's friendship has drifted as a result of Aubrey seeing changes in her. This has caused Aubrey to draw closer to her ex-boyfriend Brooks. Although Aubrey initiated their breakup, they have managed to remain close friends.  In fact Brooks is still very much interested in Aubrey as more than just a friend. But Aubrey is now drawn to Maxx the boy she feels needs her help and most importantly, the boy she thinks she can fix! Eventually, they give in and allow themselves to develop a strong connection full of passion, excitement, and a strong dependency.

This read is full of lies, deception, and love. I can't wait to finish Follow Me Back to find out what happens to Maxx, Aubrey, and her friends! A. Meredith Walters did a phenomenal job of keeping us on our toes! I give this read a 4 owls as the character development is intriguing and captivating! This is a very well developed story line that keeps you wanting more!!
