Ruth Carver has always competed like her life depends on it. Ambitious. Tough. Maybe even mean. It’s no wonder people nicknamed her Ruthless.
When she wakes up with a concussion in the bed of a moving pickup truck, she realizes she has been entered into a contest she can’t afford to lose.
At a remote, rotting cabin deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Ruth’s blindfold comes off and she comes face-to-face with her captor. A man who believes his mission is to punish bad girls like Ruth. A man who has done this six times before.
The other girls were never heard from again, but Ruth won’t go down easy. She escapes into the wilderness, but her hunter is close at her heels. That's when the real battle begins. That's when Ruth must decide just how far she’ll go in order to survive.
Back home, they called her Ruthless. They had no idea just how right they were.
I have to tell you guys something . . . I am a pansy when it comes to reading thriller books. There's just something creepy about reading books like Ruthless at night; it makes it more believable and
Ruthless starts off like a movie from Saw, no lie. The first chapter (more like all the chapters) I was holding my breathing and fearing what I would find out. The main character, Ruth wakes up in a cabin and doesn't know what's happened to her but then after a few minutes she figures it out. I don't know about you but I wanna be smart like Ruth okay. That girl had a plan for everything she did and said and if I'm ever in a situation where I need backup I am so going to channel my inner Ruthie or at least try to. I mean Ruth isn't afraid to fight for her life no matter the cost.
Carolyn Lee Adams takes us on a wild cat and mouse ride with the two main characters. We get inside the mind of a killer which is all kinds of messed up but at the same time it gives us an understanding of who he is. Don't get me wrong I hated his character with a passion but that didn't stop me from enjoying this book. Oh and don't even get me on Carolyn Lee Adams writing, it was flawess. Every time Ruth was scared or hurt or feeling loopy, I felt it in my bones. I never felt such an immense relief when the book was over, it was like I could finally breathe fresh air again.
So many twists and turns happened in Ruthless that I lost count, seriously one moment you think everything is okay and in the next second it's like a whole new game has started between Ruth and her hunter. Ruthless is full of suspense; page after page I was left shocked and I just need everyone to read this book asap.

I'm so glad you liked Ruthless! Your review meant a lot to me. <3
