In this sexy, suspenseful New Adult novel, a young woman hiding from her criminal past is taken captive by her ex-boyfriend, the ultimate bad boy.
Evie is about to embark on the perfect life. Beautiful, poised, and engaged to a rising business star, she fits the part of trophy wife perfectly, except for one thing: her entire identity is a lie.
Five years ago she created a new identity for herself, but it all crashes back when something she witnessed years ago comes back to haunt her. Now she's in danger of losing more than her social status.
Determined to protect the careful life she's built for herself, Evie doesn't want anything to do with Riley, the criminal for hire who broke her heart years ago. But Riley has other ideas. He's never forgotten Evie, and to protect her, he steals her away. Hidden from the world, sparks begin to fly as old memories resurface and their passion reignites.

I had such high hopes for this book.  Even though Captive wasn't my favorite of Brighton Walsh's books, I thought that maybe EXPOSED would be better.  But after finishing EXPOSED, I have to say I liked Captive better.  Please don't think I didn't like EXPOSED, because I do.  I absolutely love Brighton's writing, but I just didn't feel connected to the characters.  The storyline was somewhat predictable, which had me skimming through some pages.

Romance?

Yes, there was romance. I could feel the love that Evie and Riley have for each other. The sex scenes were hot, like super hot, which I think Brighton is a master at.  She isn't afraid to get down and dirty. LOL

Characters:

We only got a little bit of Riley during Capture and I was really happy to know that EXPOSED was going to be about him.  He seemed a little mysterious, so it made me curious as to what his story was.

Evie, Riley's ex-girlfriend has been dead for the past 5 years, or so he thought.  In EXPOSED, Riley finds out that Evie is still alive, but has been living a new life as Genevieve in order to stay alive. You see, Evie used to be part of Riley and Ghost's team, but something happened that she had to fake her own death.  So for 5 years poor Riley thought that the love of his life was dead.  Yeah, pretty messed up.

For some reason, I just didn't connect with Evie.  Yes, I felt bad for everything she had been through and I understand her reasoning for wanting to be in control of every situation, but I just lacked that connection with her character.

I really wanted more suspense from EXPOSED.  I loved the romance aspect of the story, but I figured that due to the storyline, that there would be some more action and suspense.  Overall, I really enjoyed reading EXPOSED.  I ended up reading it in 2 days because I couldn't put it down.
