After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she's back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?
Classic Alice Clayton. If you loved her Redhead series and her Cocktail series, you are going to love Nuts. Filled with humor and wit, Alice Clayton once again delivers us an amazing, feel good book.

Plus, your favorite redhead and her lovely Britt make an appearance!

Here are the deets you need to know. Nuts is written in the first person, my fave, and told from Roxie’s POV. If Roxie were a real person I would want her for one of my best favies. Her voice reads like she’s sitting right next to you, talking to you. Love that!
So, I decided to do this review a little different because I want to give you a “taste”of what to expect. Get it “taste”, because Roxie is a private chef…

Anyway, here goes Taste Test 1
"30. One of my pea pods wedged under his boot.
31. He fell down too.
32. His nuts went everywhere.
33. Our legs tangled.
34. His head fell into my...lap.
35. Sugar snap peas were my new favorite vegetable."

Taste Test 2
"California Roxie, a chef so talented I once made a spotted dick so good that Jack Hamilton made a face I’m pretty sure only Grace Sheridan usually gets to see."

Taste Test 3
"I sidled closer, staying out of sight ninja style."

So guys, this image is doubly funny because of the situation Roxie is currently in, and also because of the "BUTTER incident" that happened at the beginning of the book! You have got to read this book!

Taste Test 3 Con't.
Maxine: "Did you see the cucumber he brought last week? Gave me ideas."
Ruby: "Girl, if Roy ever had a cucumber that big, you think I'd have left him?"
Maxine: "You'd have to be thirty years younger. A cucumber that size would kill you now."
Okay, I'm done with the Taste Test. Just a few more tidbits. I've had the privilege of meeting Alice Clayton on two or three occasions, and if you think her books a funny, she is ten times as hilarious in person. She's an amazing author and an amazing person. So, in a nutshell, LOL, in a nutshell, pick this book up, support this author and her fantastic writing. I promise you won't be disappointed.
