Sometimes searching for true love can be a little...Outlandish.
I met Jamie Fraser when I was nineteen years old. He was tall, red-headed, and at our first meeting at least, a virgin. I fell in love hard, fast and completely. He knew how to ride a horse, wield a sword and stitch a wound. He was, in fact, the perfect man.
That he was fictional hardly entered into it. At 29, Emma Sheridan's life is a disaster and she's tired of waiting for the perfect boyfriend to step from the pages of her favorite book. There's only one place to look, and it means selling everything and leaving her world behind. With an unexpected collection of allies along the way, can Emma face down a naked fishmonger, a randy gnome, a perfidious thief, and even her own abdominal muscles on the journey to find her Fraser?

What I wouldn't do to drop everything and go off to another country to try and find my fictional character. Oh how I feel that there are so many people who would kill to do this. Was I a slight bit jealous of the character after reading the synopsis, yes, yes I was but after reading this book, I felt I was right there with her finding as she went on an adventure to find her Jamie Fraser.

I feel like I might be judged with this next paragraph but I am ready. I have not seen, read, or heard anything about the Outlander series. Well I have heard that it is a pretty good show but that is all people. Please do not hate me. I want to watch it or read it but I don't have time (excuses). Anyway not the point, onward to the book.

Emma is a woman about to hit that big 30 and she is recently divorced, lost her job, and is really unhappy with her life. So what does she decide to do. Sell all her things and travel to Scotland. HOLY SNAP!!!!!! These were the words I uttered when reading about her decision. Did I mention she decides to write everything in a blog.

This book did have its slow moments for me but I felt that it was a different read that allowed me to step out of my comfort level and tackle a different type of read. I really enjoyed reading it from a blog perspective because I felt it was more personal and casual.

This book is a must read for fans of the Outlander series. A fun adventure where a woman ventures out to make her fictional character a reality. Good story!

  1. I have an ARC of this one and I really need to get to it. It's a different kind of read for me, but it still sounds like it will be cute. Of course, I'm not an Outlander fan, so I'm not sure how much I will be able to relate to it. I'm not NOT an Outlander fan either... I've just never read or watched. I hope the book is one I'll be able to enjoy regardless. Great review!

  2. Great review! I really want to read this and I completely agree how freaking fun would it be to travel to a foreign country for fandom and/or fictional character love?! I love Scotland so I think this will be a fun read
