Since the beginning of mankind, civilizations have fallen: the Romans, the Greeks, the Aztecs…and now us. Huge earthquakes rock the world. Cities are destroyed. But something even more awful is happening: An ancient evil has been unleashed, and it’s turning everyday people into hunters, killers, and crazies.
This is the world Aries, Clementine, Michael, and Mason are living in—or rather, trying to survive. Each is fleeing unspeakable horror, from murderous chaos to brutal natural disasters, and each is traveling the same road in a world gone mad. Amid the throes of the apocalypse and clinging to love and meaning wherever it can be found, these four teens are on a journey into the heart of darkness—and to find each other and a place of safety.

Dark Inside was one of those books that got lost in my book shelves. The one that I have been meaning to read but I haven’t gotten a chance to because my TBR pile keeps growing faster than I can possibly read. A few weeks ago as I organized my shelves, I finally picked it up and began to read. I cannot believe I’ve missed out for so long…

If you are a fan of books full of suspense...this book is for you! If you enjoy being at the edge of your seat...this book is for you! If you enjoy books that are fast paced and packed with action...then you MUST read this book!

Let me just give you the first three sentences…

“I’m standing at the edge of existence. Behind me, a thousand monsters descend. Their disguises change with each stride.” Nothing

Wait...What did I just read? Who is Nothing? Is this “Nothing” a person or what? What do you mean “their disguises change with each stride?”  Those are just a few of the questions that were triggered in my brain with just the first three sentences.

I flew through the first 55 pages on the first night. I could have kept reading but I came upon a part that made me stop dead on my tracks and really think. I was so freaked out by it that it took me forever to finally fall asleep. By the time I got half way through the book I was having dreams about it...and not pleasant dreams either. Not only did this book mess with my emotions but it also messed with my bed time! From the very beginning this books consumes your whole entire life. You cannot put it down and your hand just turns the pages automatically. I ordered the second book Rage Within even before I finished Dark Inside. The third book is still in the works but I will be getting that as soon as it is released.

I learned my lesson though. I will be organizing my book shelves more often!
