Vanessa's Top 5 Reads of 2016

I have very eclectic tastes in reading. So here is a hodgepodge list of my Top 5 Reads of 2016, in no particular order.

 Graphic Novels are a new love that I just discovered this year. I have read several, but this is the best one I have read so far, and I have read some great ones! There is just something about this psychotic story that is so damn fun!

 Hands down the best Alice in Wonderland retelling that I have ever read. I love retellings, and Alice is my favorite, so I read a lot of them. This is the most dark and twisted retelling of any that I have read, and I adore it for that!

 What an epic middle grade novel this is! The story line is stellar and the illustrations are sublime. This middle grade novel reads more like a young adult novel. If you are not a fan of middle grade novels, you will be a fan of this one!

 

I'm aware that I am "cheating", but I feel like I should get a free pass because these are in a series! These 2 books I read back to back and devoured. I love that the heroine is brave and strong from the start, yet she still has major character developments throughout both novels. I just got the 3rd book for Christmas and I cannot wait to read it!

Okay, I know I said that I put the books in random order, and I did, but ACOMAF is the best book that I read in 2016. No other book came close to this one for me. I fell like I don't even have to say anything about this book, because you already know!

2016 was a pretty good reading year for me. Here's hoping that 2017 will be even better!
