When your life is a hot mess at twenty, it’s cute. At twenty-seven…well, not so much. It’s just that my lofty dreams—making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily—have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I’ve decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I’ve settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry. That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town’s new vet. With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it’s not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups. Like everyone else, I’m intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can’t refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he’ll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century. It’s too bad I underestimated Adam’s irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more. It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

Madeleine is struggling. She's a real estate agent who has only been able to have her brother and best friend as clients. Adam is the new vet in town, getting away from a past relationship and not looking to start anything. And when these two meet, we definitely don't have to worry about anything starting up. Their meet cute, in the simplest terms, doesn't go so well. Nor does the next time they run into each other. But as time passes, their chemistry is undeniable and as the attraction grows and starts to sizzle, there are just amazing scenes with lines like these:
And since Adam is a vet, of course there is the cutest, hugest dog named Mouse that Madeleine adopts, and he is the reason Adam and Madeleine meet in the first place. I love dogs so much and love books with dogs in them so this had to be my favorite part of the story. Another thing I loved about this one was how much Madeleine, at 27, is struggling with real life. Seriously, she needs to get her life together. And I sympathized with her so much because there are things I'm STILL trying to figure out. It just made her so lovable and so relatable.
R.S. Grey truly is the queen of romantic comedies! I look forward to reading her books and I think this one might be my favorite yet. Her characters are real, their chemistry is so well written, the humor makes me laugh out loud, and her most serious moments have such heart.
Pick this one up as fast as you can! It's a perfect going-into-summer read and I promise you will not be disappointed by this charming story. Happy reading!

R.S. Grey is the USA Today bestselling author of thirteen novels, including THE FOXE & THE HOUND. She lives in Texas with her husband and two dogs, and can be found reading, binge-watching reality TV, or practicing yoga!

I pre-ordered, but have yet to read this. However, I am hoping it is as good as Anything You Can Do, because that was fabulous. Your review is definitely giving me hope of that. =)
