The Selection meets Reign in this dazzling trilogy of interwoven novels about three girls on a quest for freedom and true love from #1 internationally bestselling author Richelle Mead.
Mira is not like the other Glittering Court girls. She is a war refugee, cast out of her home country and thrust into another, where she has learned to fight against the many injustices around her. For some, the Glittering Court offers a chance at a life they’ve only ever dreamed of, one of luxury, glamour, and leisure. But for Mira, it’s simply a means to an end. In the new world, she plans to earn off her marriage contract price, and finally be free.
Mira pitches herself as an asset to one of the passengers on board the ship: the sardonic and aloof Grant Elliot, whom she’s discovered is a spy for the prestigious McGraw Agency—and her ticket to buying her freedom. His cover blown, Grant has little choice but to take her on. Mira applies herself by day, learning the etiquette and customs that will help to earn her anonymity. By night, she dons a mask and slips into the city, fighting injustice and corruption on her own terms—and impressing Grant with her extraordinary abilities and insights into a brewing rebellion. But the rebellion isn’t all they’re fighting…
Neither of them can ignore the attraction burning between them—an attraction so powerful, it threatens to unravel everything Mira’s worked so hard for. With freedom finally within her grasp, can Mira risk it all for love?
The Glittering Court was a read that left me wanting more and the fact this series focuses on other characters and storylines made me super excited. Mira's story is one that I was eagerly awaiting, she was just as secretive as Adelaide, maybe even more.
Mira is a character that wanted to join The Glittering Court so that she could go to Adoria and find her brother since in Osford he is wanted for murder and she also wanted to be free to live how she wants. While traveling to Adoria Mira meets Grant, a spy and since she discovered his secret he agrees to let Mira spy for him and he will pay her after the job is complete.
Midnight Jewel was full of adventure and secrets and romance that I absolutely loved. I loved that we get to see this new side of Mira, to see how her mind works, and to see how she would sneak out and also discovering this person who wants to right the world and see justice brought had me full on crushing on Mira. Seriously I love love love Mira.
The romance is a a slow burn, yes you read that right; The romance is a slow burn romance that had me weak at the knees. And the banter between those two, you guys I love banter and Mira and Grant would banter and dish it out and ugh they are one of my favorite couples ever.
Another thing I loved about Midnight Jewel was the action and the pirates, yes pirates. When the pirates made an appearance I was flailing like crazy especially because Mira joins them and just read this book right now okay.
I have to be honest, Midnight Jewel is my favorite Richelle Mead book, I'm sorry Vampire Academy, but Grant and Mira have taken over my life and I want more stories from those two because I imagine they go on many more adventures and I just need more.
If you didn't like The Glittering Court, I assure you that you will love Midnight Jewel, I promise.

Well, I loved the Glittering Court. You have made me even more excited for this one. Great review!
