Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Favorite Book Quotes.
I love when I'm reading and I come across a quote that makes me stop for a minute and think. I also love those few quotes that make me laugh out loud. I have always wanted to gather a book of quotes and start writing down all the book quotes that I love. I'm excited that to share a few of the quotes that have stuck with me.

I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing other than of a book! - - When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.I related to Lizzie Bennett in so many ways, and this was a big one! I've always felt that an excellent library brings so much to my life that I would be miserable without one.
-Jane Austen, Pride & Prejudice
He doesn't need to tend her, because she hunts her own prey. He doesn't need to shield her, because she kills her own enemies. He doesn't need to look for her, because she's always at his side. When I read this I nearly shouted "yes, exactly!" I love this quote about a relationship built on mutual strength.
Lady of the Eternal City by Kate Quinn
I love you, she said frankly, but whatever made you think I want to follow your stars and not my own? This broke my heart a little bit reading this but I was so proud of the character that said it for standing up for herself. This quote also reminded of those times when paths can seem to be going down the same path in our heads, but we can be blinded to see that another's path isn't meant to be the same as ours.
- Empress of the Seven Hills by Kate Quinn
For, while the tale of how we suffer, and how we are delighted, and how we may triumph is never new, it always must be heard. There isn't any other tale to tell, its the only light we've got in all this darkness. This is a short story that I read way back in high school and it has stuck with me ever since. James Baldwin is a brilliant writer. I feel like there's so many quotes that I could have pulled out of his work. I love hearing other people's stories and this quote made me think of stories and how people light up when they tell them.
- Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light. This quote is always lingering in the back of my mind. When I'm down and times are hard, I try to remember that there is always something with light around me.
-Albus Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
To the People who look at the stars and wish.I love this quote! Stars and dreams are so magical, and they always hit me right in the feels. This is a beautiful quote to think when thinking about people and stars and dreams.
To the stars who answer and the dreams that are answered.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
People in brightly lit places cannot see into the dark.I've kept this quote with me as a reminder that we never know everything that people are going through.
The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
It is definitely annoying that straight (and white, for that matter) is the default, and that the only people who have to think about their identity are the ones who don't fit that mold. Straight people really should have to come out, and the more awkward it is, the better. Awkwardness should be a requirement. I guess this is sort of our version of the Homosexual Agenda?Simon is so insightful and real. This is a quote that I want to share with everyone. All I could think since reading this is why?! Why is that the default?!
-Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
There are some sock that shouldn't be washed by your mom. This quote made me laugh out loud, especially as a mom of boys.
-Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past. This is another book that I read back in high school that has stuck with me. This image of rocking back and forth between moving forward and also back in the past gives me this sense of how the past makes us who we are but so does the future.
-The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

YAY for Simon VS! Such a fantastic and quotable book.
