Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Books That Awaken the Travel Bug in Me.
One of my favorite kinds of setting and writing is atmospheric. I love when a book really puts you in a certain spot and gives you all the elements to make you feel like you are really there. Even better, is when that atmospheric setting makes you want to visit the place. A few of these are atmospheric books, the rest have settings I would love to visit. Let's talk about traveling...
(quick note - click on the book covers to visit their Goodreads' page)

ROME
because of..

I had a small desire to visit Rome, but after reading The Empress of Rome series by Kate Quinn, I had such a desire to see all the history there in person. What a beautiful place rich with so much history!
HAWAII
because of..

Hawaii is one place I have always wanted to go, so when I read Summer of Sloane, it had me wanting to teleport there and see al the beauty and peace that Hawaii has to offer.
SAILING THE OCEAN
because of..

These two books, that I've read recently, had me wanting to hop on ships with the characters. To see the beauty of the ocean and finding different islands. Oh, and the stars at night when you're on the ocean - what an incredible sight that would be!
THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE
because of..

Pride and Prejudice and any Jane Austen novel has me wishing that I lived in or could visit the English countryside. It feels like a place I could call home.
TAKING A TRAIN/BACKPACKING THROUGH EUROPE
because of..

This is something that I daydream about doing. All the sights you could see, the adventures you could have while backpacking through Europe sounds incredible.
A CASTLE IN IRELAND (OR ENGLAND OR SCOTLAND)
because of..

I read this gothic tale and loved the setting. I may be a bit odd, but I love the dreary and gothic castles are fascinatingly beautiful to me. I would love to visit some castles across the ocean some day.
MOROCCO/TANGIER
because of..

This book has a rich atmosphere, one that I really felt like I was there. This book delivered such setting that I would love to have the opportunity to visit Morocco/Tangier.
ROAD TRIP
because of..

I loved following Amy and Roger along their road trip! I have a special spot for road trips, I feel like there's something special about them and the people you take them with.
TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD
because of..

The characters in these two books do a lot of traveling. I loved the sense of freedom that comes with packing up and going different places; wherever you choose to go.
NEW ZEALAND
because of..

This is cheating a little bit.. but please bear with me. The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings movies ignited a travel bug in me to visit the stunning lands of New Zealand. Such a beautiful place!

These are some great destinations!
