Top Ten Tuesday: Short Story Collections I Want to Read

Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Favorite Novellas/Short Stories -> Short Story collections I want to read
I haven't read many short story collections and I've been wanting to change that. I changed up this topic a bit to talk about the short story collections that I want to read. Some of these are classic authors, some of these are more modern - it's a mix.

All of these books are ones that I have been recommended and sound like they will be really good reads. Alice Munro is one of my mother-in-law's favorite authors.

These are classic authors that I would love to read.
I read stories from Flannery O'Connor and Shirley Jackson in high school and they have stuck with me through the years.
Ernest Hemingway is a favorite classic author and another author who I read a short story from in high school that has stuck with me throughout the years.
J.D. Salinger is one author whose work I haven't read but have wanted to for so long.

  6. I’ve read almost all of these. The only one I couldn’t finish is What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours. I got bored with it.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  7. I've never read Ernest Hemingway, oddly enough, but given the fact that he has a sort of local connection (he spent time several hours to the north of where I live here in Michigan) I've always been curious- I should do something about that.

  8. I haven't read any of these. I think there's a lot of people this week that haven't read a lot of short stories, but it's interesting to see people's picks!
