Top Ten Tuesday: Longest Books I've Ever Read

Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Longest Books I've Ever Read.
While I was finding the longest books I've ever read for this post, I realized a few things. First, it's been awhile since I had read a truly big book. I feel like I am overdue for one. Second, most of the big books I have read have been parts of series, and mostly fantasy as well. Also, I noticed that since most started to become part of a series, I grouped the series together and counted it just as one to give the post some more variety. What are some big books (over 500 pages) that you have enjoyed?

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
The Order of the Phoenix - 870 pages
The Deathly Hallows - 759 pages
Goblet of Fire - 734 pages

A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin
(I have only read the first two)
A Game of Thrones - 848 pages
A Clash of Kings 784 pages

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer
827 pages

Breaking Dawn (Twilight series #4) by Stephanie Meyer
756 pages

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
736 pages

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
720 pages

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas
699 pages

Furies of Calderon (Codex Alera #1) by Jim Butcher
673 pages (mass market paperback edition that I read)

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
661 pages

The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) by Brandon Sanderson
647 pages

  1. We actually have quite a few books in common! I'm also in halfway through The Final Empire. And I'm loving it!

  2. Game of Thrones for the win! On my list too! :)

  3. Like you, I found when compiling my list that most of the books I read years ago. I agree with you as well that Gone With the Wind didn't feel as long as it is and that sometimes books that are actually much shorter can feel interminable! They're the ones we should learn to put down (something I'll admit I find difficult).

    My list:

  4. A Song of Ice and Fire for sure- I almost used all the books on mine and had to stop myself. :) I guess I never realized either how long some of Maas' books are.

  5. I have only done the first GoT book, it was just way too dense to me.

    My TTT

  6. ACOWAR and Winter made my list too! See a lot of them today! I decided to leave out Harry Potter since they were pretty lengthy and I wanted to show off other titles that I've read! Though I make a special mention for that! Lol!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  7. I have a paperback copy of Furies of Calderon around here somewhere. I love Jim Butcher and really need to read this series!

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  8. I've read so many long books this year that 500 pages seem about average, LOL. Less than 400 pages and I start think "ooh, short read". But the longer books can get exhausting if you read too many of them in a row. I read the five GoT books last year and it took forever.

  9. A Game of Thrones made my list this week (and Harry Potter would have except it was beat out by other longer books). My list was rather Stephen King heavy this week, and now I kind of wish I'd grouped his books together (even though they're not series) to add a few more books to my list.

Have a great week. - Katie

  10. My list is quite similar to yours actually. Also have the three Harry Potter books on my list as well as Breaking dawn and ACOMAF and ACOWAR.

  11. Most of mine are fantasy series too! I like that you have A Little Life thrown in too, though!

  12. So many good books on your list. I haven't read any Brandon Sanderson yet, but I would have thought he'd be at the top with page count. Happy reading!

  13. I have not read any of the novels on your TTT post! They look like really good reads. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get around to reading a few of them!

Here’s a link to my TTT post this week:

  14. Most of the big books on my list are from series, too. Harry Potter and GoT made my list. Those books are massive.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
