Top Ten Tuesday: Villains That Have Stuck With Me

Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Villians - whomever you love, hate, find lovable, are misunderstood, etc.
I chose to go with villains that have stuck with me. These are villains that I had to admire while reading for various reasons - but mostly, they were so well-crafted.  I know I'm a little short on a top ten list this week, I couldn't quite round it out - which means I need to read more books with well-crafted villains! ;)

1. Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses series
He was the villain in book one, but he quickly changed my mind!

2. The Darkling from the Shadow and Bone trilogy
There was something about the Darkling that was rather endearing. I found myself rooting for him despite that he was the villain.

3. Queen Levana from the Lunar Chronicles
Queen Levana was so well done. A complicated character that had more beyond what was on her surface. I enjoyed getting to know what makes her tick.

4. Warner from the Shatter Me series
I remember being so shocked by Warner in the first book - how could this guy be the way he is?! Another character I enjoyed getting to know throughout the series.

5. The Sea Queen from To Kill a Kingdom
She was so cold-hearted that it was something new I had encountered. I was totally taken aback at how well done and true to character she remained throughout the story.

6. Josh from The Hating Game
He may not have remained the villain, but this is my favorite hate-to-love story.

  1. Ooh yes, Warner! How did I forget to include him! Wonderful list. My TTT

  2. I still want to read the Shattered Me series at some point.

  3. Ooh nice ones! Still can't believe I forgot to include Levana! I know how it happened too...Marissa's books aren't in my room where I do my blogging, so out of sight, out of mind! Lol! Great picks!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  4. I haven't learned to love the Darkling yet, but then I've only read the first Grisha book.
    My TTT:

  5. Snap with The Darkling! he made my list of villains too.

  6. I haven't read any of these, but I like your take on the theme. A really well-written villain makes all the difference in a story. Give me a reason to root against him!

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
