When I was thinking about books for this list, I was finding myself thinking of two genres: atmospheric thriller/mystery books and light-hearted "chick-lit". I feel like the atmospheric thriller/mystery books really relish in the mood and atmosphere of a rainy day. On the other hand, the light-hearted "chick-lit" books lends a smile and a cheerier vibe to a potential bummer-of-a-day. One thing both categories have in common is that these books are ones that would be motivating to read the afternoon away with.. whether because of the need to find out what happens next or wondering where the love story is going to go. Whichever you find yourself in the mood for, I hope these books can help you out on a rainy day.Top Ten Tuesdays (TTT) is a weekly event now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's TTT is: Rainy Day Reads.
I went in the mystery/thriller direction for this myself. I have been wanting to try some more Ruth Ware stuff. I'm also hoping to read more lighter chick-lit this year - this stuff all looks great.

Ooh I loved The Au PAir! And Maybe as well!
ReplyDeleteI've only read The Kiss Quotient before but it was really good. I suppose it could make a good rainy read.
ReplyDeleteI agree, those genres go very well with rainy day reads! :-) I'm reading The Kiss Quotient soon and I'm looking forward to it. My TTT
ReplyDeleteNice! Seeing these are the types of books we're all gravitating towards for rainy day reads! I myself go the creepy/mystery route for the rainy day read!

I really love the way the atmospheric covers all look sitting together. Very moody! The Darling Bride really caught my eye, so I'll have to look it up 😊
ReplyDeleteMy Rainy Day TTT.
I like the way you divided your list! I agree. When picking books for a rainy day you can go either for the moody atmosphere or something cheerful. I went moody with my list this week. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing people talk about The Woman in Cabin 10. Really should check it out one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! I have read books from both of those genres on rainy days.
